After the information that Germany is getting behind in the fight for dominace over the UK and US, the Chancellor initiates the German Space Program. He appoints his top SS Scientist to head this project. His name is Likwuz von Titusna (NPC) and he has choosen many different very close scientist friends to help him. The first challenge they must meet is to find out what kind of forces happen to a probe when exiting the atmosphere and what happens when it's not in an atmosphere. The scientists are already sending up rockets to explore the upper-atmosphere and very-edge of the atmosphere.

Thes scientists now understand that pressure is no longer a factor while is space and begin to contruct a probe to just keep oxygen and water in the craft. They send a probe into the vaccum above them and take data from various instruments on the craft. They now have the challenge of re-entry to re-arm or decommision the space craft. The craft stays in space for another week before it is controlled back into the atmosphere and burns up. The think the just need to apply several inches, maybe 18, for re-entry. The start to build.

For re-entry heat problems, the scientests tried mixing charcoal dust with the paint. This didn't help but it seemed to absorb radar waves, esp. the British radars.

The probe was launched into space and controlled to make a re-entry succesfuly. Once the first of the atmosphere touched the surface of the space craft making a re-entry, it became a white glow. After several seconds of falling, the probe was completely white, about 6 inches of metal was already vaporized in the intense heat. The probe slammed into the Indian Ocean where it became solid again, but the heavy metal shell was quite disfigured. This proved that the Germans could actually send a probe into space, leave it there for several days, and make a succcesful re-entry! The next task, sending a man in space.
