On the 24th, German forces proceeded to move into Belarus, from supported nation of Lithuania, and the nation of Poland, through the border into the cities of Bug & Neman, which at early afternoon where took after a small amount of skirmishes between the border patrols of the 51st Guards, and the 26th Infantry.
These 2 formations where combated by the newly formed 99th & 100th Panther's, who in turn where backed by infantry from the 34th infantry division, who split up, to take both of the cities; from Czechoslovakia & Poland.
Newly converted Czech ZB vz. 26 machine guns saw their first use in the German Wehrmacht as impromptu AA guns, when they faced the limited Aerial Capability of the Belorussian 26th, who with their obsolete, and partly Russian supply of aerial forces where quickly took down by the ZB's.
A good few German troops where shot, but not a large number where killed, when they eventually made the push into Pripyat (Which was part of Belarus & not Ukraine then) & Villya, up in the North.
The 100th pushed down into Minsk, after a concentrated bombing by scattered Aerial Bombardments from the Luftwaffe.
At early evening the 100th arrived in Victory Square, eventually also taking the House of Government in Minsk, the German flag soon flying high over the building, above the crest. Soon replacing the Belorussian one.
The 99th on the other hand pushed westwards into Berezina & Dnyapo in which they came into mild contact with remnants of the 115th who's majority had been transferred into the 26th on short notice to combat the border breakage.
They soon surrendered to the 99th.
A delayed crossing of the Sozh river led to the late, but eventually arrival into Gomel, which with alot of the people sheltered from the combat was literally a Ghost town.
The 100th didn't stop with their push as they went Eastwards out of Minsk into the 3rd largest city in Belarus, the city of Mogilev.
They soon took St. Stanislaw's Cathedral, using it as a stronghold for rearmament and for aid of the troops.
Also the convent of St. Nicholas was also took, with no delays in the push out of there.
German forces soon arrived in the 4th largest city, Vitebsk, where the surrendered forces of the remaining Belorussian army surrendered to the German forces, allowing the Germans to take command of the Vitebsk airbase, the Annunciation Church was used to hole up the POW's.
The Vitebsk town hall was soon took & two German flags soon flew above the doors of it.
A good majority of the soldiers where transferred into various sections of the German army. These numbers being listed as:
Army: 29,600
Airforce & Air Defence: 18,170
In Training: 25,170
Total: 72,940.
